Origin of the name “HARU”
Enduring cold winter, we wait for spring.
Living in Tohoku, we all know a joy of warm spring that will surely come soon.
No matter how sad and cruel the situation is right now,
dreams, hopes and happiness surely come to Tohoku,
like the next season “HARU (spring)” surely comes.
dreams, hopes and happiness surely come to Tohoku,
like the next season “HARU (spring)” surely comes.
The weather turns “HARE (clear-up)”,
Leaf buds begin to “HARU (swell)”,
Fields are “HATTE (cultivated)”, and
All creations are “HARU (born)”.
Everyone is different but our hearts are the same.
Everything starts from here,
in order to bring spring to Tohoku.
in order to bring spring to Tohoku.
“Let’s bring spring to Tohoku!! Let’s step forward together…..♪”

Origin of the Logo
Yellow-green expresses crisp spring day. Young leaves on the right and left express benevolence and friendship of volunteers (Leaves are tip of “Hagi” of Tohoku University Logo). Also, rotundate font and connection between each letters are symbol of reconciliation, reconstruction and bounding of our fellowship.
