HARU was officially commended on subsidizing project on student volunteering, by student support center foundation.

      Hello, this is Kaisumi from HARU Public Relations. It has been quite chill lately, that snow just does not know when to melt.

      Few days ago, HARU was chosen to be a subsidized project on student volunteering by student support center foundation, and was officially commended. The student support center aims at contributing Japanese advanced education by promoting realization of fulfilled student life of heart and humanity, through subsidizing activities related to student life. The student volunteering subsidizing project is one of them.

The commendation ceremony was held in Tokyo on 26^th of January, to which our member Motoyama went;

“I feel that this certificate means evaluation on success of many people after HARU was founded. Many students from other universities also participated in the ceremony. A person who is from Miyagi and now going to school in Tokyo, told me that it was really reliable and grateful that HARU has been working hard since right after the earthquake.

              This time I received not only as a member of HARU, also for members that found HARU and all the volunteer students participated in any activities of HARU.”

              Now HARU is working on 3 projects: Study Support Project, Library Recovery Project, and Field Mustard Project. We are very grateful on this and keep on doing our best.

Restart of HARU

HARU had acted a role on functioning as volunteer center inside Tohoku University. It has taken a pause since mid June, for many of our teammates having difficulty on having it both ways volunteering and studying. During the pause, we have discussed about activity policy and form of the team.

From now on, we restart HARU as a simple volunteer team, relinquishing our previous role as volunteer center and the mailing list. We are going to cooperate with Tohoku University East Japan Earthquake Student Volunteer Support Division:　http://www.tohoku.ac.jp/japanese/studentinfo/volunteer/01/volunteer0101/

We are going to work on 3 projects:
1. Education Support
2. Library Recovery
3. Field Mustard Project

All the members belong to either of the projects and take responsibility on it. We would like to increase the number of projects as possible with students and professors with new idea.

Since we are not going to use the mailing list anymore, we want those who are willing to work with us to join us as a member. We will let you know later on website or other tool.

We are very grateful that we could work with you all the registrants, for supporting Tohoku district reconstruction. We believe that our work was help to reconstruction.

Announcement on Reorganization of HARU

It has been 3 month since HARU was found by some volunteer students on 24^th of March, after the Great East Japan Earthquake. We have made a collective effort by doing anything we can to help, and accepted many requests. We have always groped what we can do, and what we ought to do.

It is said that 3 months lets it move on to the next reconstruction phase in many affected area. On this occasion we are discussing about our future activity and reorganizing the system. Under this circumstance, we are not capable of doing any advocacy work right now.

Though there are so many of works left that are needed in affected areas, we are going through an indispensible reorganization. It takes a while, but we are willing to turn over new leaf. So please wait until then.
